The Friends of the Westfield Library is proud to announce the eighth annual Craft Bazaar and Silent Auction! The event will be held at the library on Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Please plan to come and visit the various booths where craft vendors will be selling their wares. This year we will be having a 50-50 raffle drawing and will start selling raffle tickets for this TV that we are giving away (ticket sale run through 11/19 and winning name will be drawn 11/21). We will also have free refreshments available. The event is separated into two portions. The Craft Bazaar snakes through the library and provides vendors with the opportunity to sell their items and shoppers the opportunity to purchase handmade items for themselves or as gifts. Items include various types of jewelry, paintings, doll clothes, quilted items, handbags, pottery and much more! Many vendors return each year, but we always have some new participants as well, so we hope you’ll plan to come and see what’s new!
The Silent Auction is the portion of the event that benefits the library. Items are placed on display on tables at the entrance to the library. These items have been donated by both the vendors and many local businesses. Many of these items will be attractively packaged as gift baskets, ready to give to a friend or family member for the holidays! We’ll also have gift certificates and single items. On the day of the Craft Bazaar, simply write your name and phone number and your bid on the bid sheet, and if your bid is the highest when the auction ends, you will get to purchase the item for that amount! The money raised from the Silent Auction goes to the Friends group and will be used by the Friends to continue supporting the library.
We invite you join us this Sunday, October 16, 2011! We look forward to seeing you and hope you have a fun day of shopping, knowing that when you bid on the Silent Auction items, you are supporting your library!
